Apartment and studio, Paris
Suggestion for an addition to an apartment building in Paris. The addition is conceived as a high roof clad in zinc- a tribute to Paris’ legendary zinc roofscapes.
The house blends seamlessly into its environment with a balcony along the existing wall on the first floor that contains living spaces, while the second floor is built around a studio space. This composition allows the opening of big windows, which are frameless inside and penetrate the zinc roof outside with thick frames of copper. The interior has light polished terrazzo floor, terazzo fireplace and lime plastered walls.
